"Well, it's a long story, but the question I'd like to know is The Final Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything Else. All we know about it is that the answer is forty-two, which is a little irritating." Douglas Adams (1952-2001), A Hitchhiking Galaxy Guide
In the Guide, an advanced race gives the computer Deep Thought the task of answering the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything Else. After seven and a half million years, Deep Thought at a solemn ceremony announces Answer: 42. Our books provide more informative answers to more modest but still difficult questions. Scientific and professional knowledge in them is presented to a non-specialized but curious reader, whom they want to reliably inform and encourage to think.
